Aboriginal AIDS Awareness Week Contests
Rock the Ribbon
Kiddie Colouring Contest
Share Your Story
The “Rock the Ribbon” contest is all about getting creative and making yourself an AIDS Awareness ribbon. You can make a wearable ribbon out of red felt, string, yarn, beads, a scarf, etc. Or make a non-wearable ribbon, such as a cookie, a painting of a ribbon or use Twizzlers to make a ribbon. Take a picture of yourself rocking your ribbon or of the ribbon you made and upload it to our Facebook post: https://www.facebook.com/know.your.status1
Gift card prizes are available for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place! The photos with the 3 most likes by the end of the week (12pm on December 4th) are our winners!
A contest for the kiddies! Download the colouring picture, colour it and then send a picture of it in to cziegler@sktc.sk.ca or text it to 306-381-4529 with your name and home town. Once you enter, you’ll have a chance to win one of three gift card prizes! Contest will close and winners will be randomly selected on Monday December 14th.
“Share Your Story” is all about how HIV or AIDS has touch all of us in some way. Write a short story, a poem, a paragraph or even a line about how HIV or AIDS has affected your life. You do not need to have been diagnosed with HIV to enter this contest. You can write about anything from how you are concerned about the high HIV rates in Saskatchewan to how your cousin has struggled with addiction and fear they may be be exposed to HIV. Its up to you- please share your story. Email cziegler@sktc.sk.ca with your story and a name (if you wish- you can also remain anonymous) for your chance to win one of three gift card prizes. The stories will then be put into a book that can be shared. We hope you will consider contributing.
To sweeten the deal, three gift cards are available for participants. Submit your writing piece by December 21st for a chance to be randomly selected for one of the three gift cards.

Our HIV Virtual Health Fair featured presentations on HIV and HIV Stigma by STC, Saskatoon Sexual Health, Planned Parenthood Regina, AIDS Program South Saskatchewan and the Person’s Living with AIDS Network. If you missed it, you can view it here.
To start Aboriginal AIDS Awareness Week, we put together a short video talking about why it is important to observe this week, especially in Saskatchewan.
